*Gilda: bisexual love triangle, Gilda is a 1946 film ahead of it's time, about a bisexual love triangle set in the world of high class gambling starring Rita Hayworth, Glen Ford and George Macready. Since the Hollywood code was still firmly in place, everything had to be suggested rather than direct, but the bisexual overtones are unmistakable and this film goes farther than any other seen from that time period. In fact, not sure how it slipped past the censors..

*Eighteen, a drama, is about Pip, an eighteen yr old boy who leaves home for the streets after a car accident where his brother is killed and he is injured, while his father is driving, after a family argument. Hanging out in a gay bar, he meets a guy who hustles for a living and they become flirty friends. Then he meets a girl who works at a food pantry, and falls for her. Meanwhile, we also are seeing the story of his grandfather, as a young soldier who falls in love with a chanteuse during WWII and then falls for one of his buddies in the trenches. Although Pip turns out to be straight, although he appears to be bi for most of the film  but this film not only has a very bisexual vibe, there is a major character who has a clearly bisexual arc. (Warning: there is one dramatic scene that is quite bizarre.) Alan Cumming plays Father Chris, a priest who tries to help Pip; Ian McKellen does the voiceovers as Pip's grandpa and Thea Gill (Queer as Folk) plays Hannah, the chanteuse.

*Possible Loves, a dramedy, is a Brazilian film that shows three different possible life scenarios of Carlos (who looks like a Brazilian Robert Downey Jr.), a guy who was stood up for a date 15 years ago by Julia, a girl he still dreams about. In one version he is straight and married; in the second, he is living with the boyfriend he left Julia for and in the third, he is single. In all he gets involved with Julia again. Pedro is a character in all three scenarios also: in one he is the straight business partner of Carlos, in another, he is the gay boyfriend and in another, he is the gay business partner. This film has a very bisexual vibe, not only because the Carlos in scenario #2 is living with his boyfriend while rekindling his relationship with his ex-wife, but also because one minute Carlos is waking up in bed with his wife, and a few minutes later onscreen, he is waking up in bed with his boyfriend. A toaster figures prominently in all three scenarios, but since it is not a toaster oven, I dont know if it was a deliberate "recruiting" reference!

*Kiss the Bride, a comedy, is a story about two guys who were lovers in high school and the woman (Tori Spelling) who is about to marry one of them. It goes love triangle in both expected and unexpected ways, and the two macho best friends of the groom turn out to be not quite as straight as they seem.

*Three on a Match, also has a mix of gay, bi and straight characters that leads to a decidedly bisexual vibe. In this film, there is a supporting character who actually declares herself bisexual to all her friends at a party, which is treated as no big deal in the scene, but is a novelty to the bisexual viewer because it's something you rarely see on film. Usually film characters dont name their bisexuality, they just act on it. There is also a flashback of a gay man at the party having sex with the bi girl, back in college. The main characters are a female couple who are having relationship trouble over whether to have a baby. Both of them, unknowingly, become involved with the same guy. This film is the least of the three, it's a comedy/melodrama/softcore, but there is enough bisexuality to keep you interested.

*Daphne, Daphne is a film about aclaimed English bi writer Daphne du Maurier, author of the novel Rebecca with bisexual overtones and The Birds, made into a film by Hitchcock. The film Daphne shows du Maurier, a wife and mother of three, in a rocky period of her marriage, falling for the beautiful Ellen Doubleday (played by Elizabeth McGovern), wife of her publisher (who appears to revel in the attention but doesnt return it) and having an affair with actress Gertrude Lawrence (also married) who stars in a play based on her Ellen Doubleday crush but disguised as a son-in-law attracted to his mother-in-law (also forbidden) with GL in the role based on Ellen Doubleday  To complicate things further, du Maurier's father, an acter and theater manager, had an affair with Lawrence long ago. It also shows her partial self-identity as male, especially when courting a lady, similar to Vita Sackville-West. Interestingly, Janet McTeer, who plays Gertrude Lawrence in Daphne, starred as Vita in the TV mini-series Portrait of a Marriage. Noel Coward keeps popping up and has the pivltal role of introducingDaphne and Gertrude at a party at Ellen Doubleday's.

*Teacher's Pet, In Teacher's Pet, a 1958 romantic comedy about the newspaper biz, starring Clark Gable and Doris Day, there are scenes that are very bi-suggestive.

*Imagine Me & You, Rachel and Heck, long time friends and lovers, finally tie the knot, and during the celebration, Rachel starts a friendship with their florist, Luce. And while Rachel originally intended to match her new friend, Luce, up with her husband's friend, Cooper, she soon finds out that Luce is a lesbian. During the course of their friendship, Rachel starts to question her own sexuality. And though she comes to realize she may have feelings for her new friend, Rachel must decide who she will ultimately find the most happiness with: Heck, her new husband who is also adored by her family, or Luce, who has turned her life and everything she thought she new about love upside down.

*Moral Orel-bisexual cartoon

Moral Orel, is a comedic parody of a boy named Orel who lives in a town of overly righteous Protestants, the show pokes fun at the closed mindedness of Protestant dogma, it's truly hilarious, no matter what religion one affiliates with, its all in good fun. There's also some lesbian/gay undertones, but the bisexual elements are much stronger. In a nutshell, Orel's dad, Clay, who is married to Orel's Mom Bloberta, has a serious infatuation with Orel's gym teacher, Coach Stopframe (who's first name by the way, is Daniel but always pronounced like Danielle on the show). Now, all up until the final season, Coach Stopframe was presumed gay, until it comes out that he actually slept with Bloberta and fathered Orel's little brother, Shapey (we find out just as it seems that Clay is finding it, after wondering why Shapey looks nothing like him, but then recognizes that he very much resembles his love interest, Coach Stopframe) Now it's implied but never clearly stated that Clay and Coach Stopframe have had sex, but they do some serious romantic canoodling on the show, which is enough to include this show in your list of shows which depict Bisexual themes and characters. Also, the town cleric, Reverend Putty has a lesbian daughter. By the way, each show is only 15 minutes long, so they're easy to get into.

*Rachel Maddow vs Rick Warren

Rachel Maddow, the lesbian commentator with her own shows on MSNBC TV and Air America radio, has been following the Rick Warren story in-depth.

You can read Pollitt's full LA Times article on Rick Warren here http://www.latimes.com/news/printedition/opinion/la-oe-pollitt22-2008dec22,0,6597471.story

*Craig Fergusen on the Late Late Show

Craig Fergusen, who follows Letterman on the late night TV schedule, is the leading contender in the late nite "who can be gayer" contest. Case in point, on his first show back after the holidays, he displays his new wedding ring, informing the audience he got married over the break. Then breaks into a string of bisexual subtext jokes.

Ferguson has been on the Bidar watchlist for some time. There is so much drag, male to male flirting and male celebrity crush confessions on his show that he has convinced the public; it's not just humor.

Ferguson, Conan and Kimmel are the top contenders for gayest "straight" late night comedian. People magazine is standing by, waiting for them to come out as bisexual.

*BROMANCE

This MTV show is nine guys competing with each other to be a celebrity guy's new best buddy. Although all the guys on the show are heterosexual, including a somewhat fey ballet dancer, it has a homo-erotic vibe because it's structured like a dating show. Complete with crying. The Celebrity is Hills star Brody Jenner (son of athlete Bruce Jenner)

Bromance airs on MTV Monday nights at 9pm ET and other times throughout the week.
